Zentatsu Baker-roshi and the other teachers at Crestone Mountain Zen Center currently offer the following types of seminars:

Monastic Seminar
Placed at the beginning of the Study Month, the Monastic Seminar will combine a traditional meditation schedule with formal lectures in the Zendo, individual study and informal seminar discussions. All meals will be eaten oryoki style. Arrival: 5 PM, departure: 11 AM after brunch.

Boulder Seminars
Baker-roshi continues to teach two seminars per year in Boulder, Colorado. Both Boulder seminars are held at the Chautauqua Community House. It is not necessary for participants to have experience with Zen practice or familiarity with Baker-roshi’s previous seminars.

Sangha Seminars
The Sangha Seminar is an opportunity for new and experienced students to explore basic teachings of Zen Buddhism. The topic will be developed through informal dharma talks, question and answer, open discussion, and small groups. The schedule includes morning and evening Zazen.

Sangha Seminars are offered both in Crestone and in Boulder. The Boulder Sangha Seminars are held at the Briar Rose Bed & Breakfast. Everyone is encouraged to stay overnight at the Briar Rose; the group will also prepare all of its meals there. The Boulder Sangha Seminars are followed by a Sangha meeting to discuss current developments in the Dharma Sangha. Please stay for the Sangha meeting, if you can. Arrival: 5 PM, departure: approx. 2 PM after lunch or 4 PM after the Sangha meeting.

New Year’s Seminar
The topic of the seminar will be developed through lectures, question and answer, open discussion, and small groups.
 On New Year’s Eve (December 31st) we will have a festive dinner and a dance party, followed by Zazen and 108 bells to welcome in the New Year. The event ends with a brunch on New Year’s Day. Arrival: 5 PM, departure: 11 AM.
