Aikido practice and zazen each offer the possibility of direct experience of our lives as larger than the individual self. In aikido, we have the opportunity for a particular, physical sense of inclusive wholeness as two people meet in movement, independent of cooperation or conflict. In zazen we have the same opportunity as we sit together in stillness. In both aikido and zazen we discover the workings of intention and attention, of stillness and activity. In these days together we will practice aikido and zazen, and take part in community life at the Crestone Mountain Zen Center.
