Crestone Mountain Zen Center is building a new free-standing, self-sufficient retreat cabin (with a bathroom and kitchenette). We have already put in the foundation, framed in the walls, and we are now trenching in the gas, electrical, and plumbing.
This cabin was designed with Ionut Nedelcu, Professor of Architecture at the University of Bucharest in Romania. Ionut is a Zen teacher. We designed the cabin to be both minimal and yet complete enough so that stays of three days or three months are equally possible. It will be a beautiful and well-made refuge and we hope it will feel like a home to which practitioners and retreatants will want to return.
At present, Hillside Cabin, the only other comparable accommodation, is our most sought-after space. Personal retreat and meditation practice are needed now more than ever as humanity explores ways to spiritually regenerate and strategize practically during the crises threatening both the Human-World and the Earth-World.
The construction costs for the cabin will be about $36-40k. Please consider making a contribution to support our cabin construction project. It will help us continue to offer the Dharma to all those seeking the Way.
